Steering Teams

Prospective members met and determined the following names and scope for the four permanent steering teams. These groups will drive the agenda of the consortium and will be formed as members join. Final priorities and tasks of the steering teams will be decided by members of the Groups. Within each will be project teams with deliverable objectives.

ST1: 3D Content Creation and Production
High Priority: 3D Content Creation - quality vs. quantity
High Priority: Mastering 3D content for the home vs. cinema
Low Priority: 3D creation training and education program development
Low Priority: 3D workflow training and education program development

ST2: 3D Content Storage, Transmission & Distribution
High Priority: File formats, compression, transmission
High Prioirty: Monitor and liaison with standards bodies and other consortia, (requesting actions as determined) e.g. DCI, MPEG, SMPTE, IEEE, 3D Consortium, 3D4YOU, 3DIDA and others

ST3: 3D Promotion
High Priority: Common naming conventions and vocabulary - industry level
Medium Priority: Develop content for web distribution; attract new members from important constituencies
Low Priority: End-user & retailer/reseller education and in-store demos

ST4: 3D Displays
High Priority: 3D display quality metrics - ghosting, dimensionalization, brightness, etc.
Medium Priority: 3D Human Factors - eye fatigue, viewing time, etc.
